All I have to say is...

this time change is for the birds!!! It screws with my body's routine and throws me all off. I was awake by 5:30 this morning because to my body it was 6:30 and time to get up for work. Now its 9pm and I feel like I could fall over asleep at anytime. Who ever came up with changing the time around every year is nuts!

Its been a while...

I know its been a while since I last posted. I had to share this picture. They are my two most favorite people and the picture just says it all about their relationship. They don't see each other very often because Jason works such crazy hours but he still loves her dearly. I really love being an aunt. I never thought I would have such strong feelings for a niece or nephew but I really do, maybe its because I don't have one of my own and feel like I never will. Plus, she is SO freakin cute!! I don't see her as much as I would like but maybe someday her mama will let me babysit. Anyway, here is the pic. It was taken last weekend at Clayton's birthday dinner.

Just about there!!!

Well we leave bright and early on Monday for South Padre Island. I am so excited but I keep having this feeling that something is going to go wrong to ruin it. I am going to stay positive though and have as much fun as I can! This is the first nice vacation Jason and I will have been on since we got married (almost 4 years ago). We are SO looking forward to it. We have rented a condo that is a 1/2 block from the beach and Kelsey, Sam, and Stan are all going with us so I think we will have a blast. Anyway, just wanted to throw a post in here while I had the chance. I have a feeling between packing and all the errands and running around I have to do the next two days are going to fly by really quickly. If anyone needs us while we are gone you can call our cell phones. I will be sure and take lots of pictures, so stay tuned! Pray for NO HURRICANES! "See" ya late Saturday!

Will it ever get here?

I tried to add a countdown but it wouldn't work so I am making my own!

24 DAYS & 10 HOURS!!!

I CANNOT wait until our trip to South Padre Island. We are renting a condo on the beach! When I say we I mean my husband and I and some good friends of ours. The condo is only a year old so it should be nice. If you want to see where we are staying check it out below. I will be sure to post lots of pictures when we get back. We leave Sept. 10th and come back on the 15th.

Here is the link for the virtual tour of the condo.

Everyone has asked so now I am answering...

The popular question to both Jason and I is...."When are you two going to start having kids?"
Typically, I just shrug and say "I don't know" or "whenever it happens" but in reality its not as easy as it sounds. Sometimes I think some women can just look at another pregnant woman and get pregnant but of course, nothing ever seems to be that simple for me. I have what is called PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome).

***According to WebMD.com-Polycystic ovary syndrome (say “pah-lee-SIS-tik OH-vuh-ree SIN-drohm”) is a problem in which a woman’s hormones are out of balance. It can cause upsetting changes in the way you look and problems with your periods. If it is not treated, over time it can lead to serious health problems, such as infertility and heart disease.***

When I was 18 I went to the gynocologist because I was not having normal periods. She told me that I had PCOS and then acted like it was no big deal, so since I was only 18 and didn't know any better I believed her. BOY WAS SHE WRONG!

Now that I am older and know how to do the research it answers SO MANY QUESTIONS! PCOS can cause:
Acne (yep got that)
Weight gain and trouble losing weight (yep got that)
Thinning hair on the scalp. (that too)
Irregular periods. Often women with PCOS have fewer than 9 periods a year. Some women have no periods. (Yep)
Fertility problems. Many women with PCOS have trouble getting pregnant (DEFINITELY)

So there are a few options on how to make you have normal periods.
1)Take metformin (glucophage)
2)While taking the metformin also take Clomid (it should trick the body and make you ovulate)
3)Lose weight (see above where it says it causes trouble losing weight)

I have tried all of these to no avail. There is one other procedure where they go in and drill holes in your ovaries which is supposed to make you ovulate. I am not so sure about this one yet. It sounds weird to me.

So after all this there is the option of adoption. I have no problems with adoption. Jason's dad was adopted. I know other people that were adopted and that have adopted and they are all very happy. Our biggest problem is the cost. Yes, I know babies are expensive but that isn't all in one lump sum at one time, its kind of spread out. Where adoption would be all at once and then for the rest of the child's life. We have contacted adoptuskids.org and received information regarding adoption. I am only 26 (about to be 27) so I still have a few years left to try but if getting pregnant for a "normal" woman gets more difficult with age then the outlook isn't so bright for me.

Anyway, I wanted to share and let everyone know just what exactly is "wrong" with me and why we don't have kids yet. Jason is very understanding and he says it will happen when its meant to but I am impatient and I do get upset easily and he listens to me rant and rave and doesn't seem to mind (much).

If anyone has any advice other than "it will happen when the time is right" please feel free to share.

A movie review

We went and saw Knocked Up last Friday night. We all thought it was really good. It has great (stupid) humor for the guys and a good story line for the women. Below is the description of the movie I found online. You should go see it!

From the creative team that brought you 40 Year Old Virgin comes the next installment in the "fish out of water" comedy romance genre. Knocked Up tells the story of Ben (Seth Rogen) and Alison (Katherine Heigl) — two individuals from completely different walks of life. Alison is an employee of the E! channel, promoted at the beginning of the film from a position behind the camera to on-air talent status. Ben, on the other hand, is your stereotypical free-spirit — he lives with four slacker buddies (played hilariously by Jonah Hill, Martin Starr, Jay Baruchel and Jason Segel), is developing a pseudo pornographic online business venture and spends most of his time getting high. The two cross paths when Alison decides to celebrate her promotion with her sister, Debbie (Leslie Mann). A night at the club and several drinks later, Ben and Alison end up back at her place for a one-night stand. The morning after is less than pretty — while Ben is clearly enamored by her, it's obvious that Alison was seeing him through beer goggles the night before. The two go their separate ways and it isn't until eight weeks later that Ben hears from Alison again… with news that she's pregnant. Shock, denial and comedy ensue. After a brief will we/won't we debate, the couple decides to have the child and make a go at having a relationship. The rest of the film is spent focusing on the ups and downs of two inherently different people trying to make a relationship work, all set atop the backdrop of an impending childbirth.

What's with the RAIN?!?!?!

I did not think I would make it home today. It was POURING. I went through some water that AT LEAST came up the bottom of my car doors. Luckily I made it home in one piece. My hands were hurting from holding the steering wheel so tightly but other than that I am good! I hope everyone else made it through ok! This is a picture of what used to be my front yard. Look at my pour flowers! The rain has killed them!

Babies....LOTS of babies

Well I don't have one of my own yet but everyone around me seems to. I just thought I would post some pictures and share all the cuties in my life. At the top there is Addisyn then in the middle its Tobey, they are my niece and nephew and then at the bottom is Hailey. She is the daughter of some friends of mine. Aren't they all adorable?

First blog EVER

Well I decided to start a blog (not sure why, just bored I guess). I get bored with MySpace and what not so I decided to try something new. I will update again as soon as I have something interesting to say :-)
